Three Ways school can kill Curiosity

First:

The better we master a field, the more we reach the limits of what it can offer, and the less we are in it.

Second:

At some point children have no reason to be curious anymore, because they learned that they do not succeed in learning. They believe they are incapable of learning.

To overcome it you need to restore their curiosity to learn. So you start of with something easy which is fun. So they learn that theay are capable of learning and curiosity comes back to them.

Third:

Traditional lectures prevents children from participating and active engagement. For them it feels like they are just asked to sit there and be quite. This feels like a punishment, which then results in physical and mental paralysis associated with stress and anxiety. This inhibits learning processes.

Instead teachers should encourage curiosity instead of punishing it. Many children lose curiosity because they can not expect any reward from school.

If you tell someone in advance how to do something, curiosity is inhibited. It leads to shorter interaction with the object. So better do not say anything and let them try.
