In Adolescence there is more gray matter (measure of total number of neurons and dendrites).
Peak of grey matter comes in girls before boys. The longer the period of packing on gray-matter cortical thickness in early Adolescence before pruning started, the higher the adult IQ.
Other parts in the brain help out the Frontal Cortex until it is ready for all tasks. The other parts are not as accurate or efficient in frontal-cortex-tasks.
Boys don’t have hormonal gyrations, but sometimes the frontal cortex keeps getting hypoxic (Sauerstoffmangel) due to blood flow to the crotch.
So when you have a stiffy at school you brain does not function as well.
